The Youth Zone at this year’s Northstowe Midsummer Festival is set to make some serious noise – in the best way possible!

We’re thrilled to welcome Paul Arnett, better known as Subsonic, for two high-energy beatboxing workshops as part of the afternoon activities. A performer and teacher with over 16 years of beatboxing experience, Subsonic brings serious skill, fun, and creativity to every session. When he’s not performing at Butlins or teaching in schools, he’s busy sharing tutorials with thousands on his YouTube channel.

Subsonic is part of SIN Cru, a Cambridge-based arts organisation founded in 1995. SIN Cru has been championing Hip Hop culture across the UK for nearly 30 years, using dance, music, and visual art to build confidence, creativity, and community. You can learn more about their amazing work at SINCru.co.uk or follow them on Instagram @SIN_Cru.

The beatboxing workshops will run at 2.30pm and 3.45pm, and are open to anyone in school years 6 to 12 (ages 11–17). No need to book – just drop in!

Alongside the workshops, the Youth Zone will be open from 2–5pm, offering:

  • A Chill Zone with beanbags, books, and games
  • Giant Jenga
  • Pavement chalking
  •  Cake and biscuit decorating (yes, you can eat them too!)

Whether you’re into music, creativity, or just looking for a cool space to hang out – the Youth Zone is the place to be.

Come for the beats, stay for the vibes. We can’t wait to see you there.
